Banknotio Terms of Service
Effective from: 16 October 2026
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Banknotio, at banknotio.com, is operated by B NOTIO LTD, Office 41 Drewitt House, 865 Ringwood Rd, Bournemouth BH11 8LW, United Kingdom, company number 17403642 (Companies House), e-mail: hello@banknotio.com ("Banknotio", "we").
These terms cover how you use the service: your account, your collection, listing banknotes on the marketplace, and the paid subscription.
They do NOT cover sales between users. Those are governed by the individual seller's terms of sale, shown with every listing.
2. What Banknotio is and is not
Banknotio is a tool for managing a banknote collection and a place where users can list their own banknotes for sale and find other people's listings.
Banknotio is not the seller and is not a party to contracts between users. The contract of sale is made directly between the buyer and the seller who listed the banknote.
Banknotio does not handle payments. We never receive, hold or pass on buyers' money. The buyer pays by bank transfer directly to the seller's account.
Banknotio takes no commission on transactions. Our only income from a user is the subscription for using the service.
We do not verify the authenticity, condition or description of banknotes listed by users. That is the seller's responsibility.
People connected with Banknotio, including its founders, may list their own banknotes on the same terms as other users. Every listing shows who the seller is.
Marketplace listings are shown newest or most recently updated first. A seller may mark selected listings as featured; we show them in a separate, labelled section. We do not accept payment for a listing's position.
3. Your account
You create an account yourself with a name, e-mail address and password. One person may hold one account.
You must be at least 16 to open an account. Only adults may buy or sell on the marketplace.
Your collection is private. Only you can see it. Only the banknotes you mark as for sale become public, together with their price, photos and description.
Your data is yours. You can export your whole collection, including photos, and delete your account at any time.
Deleting your account removes your collection and photos. Orders placed by other users are retained to the extent needed to settle them and to defend claims.
4. Subscription
Some features are available on a free account, others require a subscription. The scope and price are shown before you subscribe.
The subscription renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, with effect from the end of the paid period.
A price change never applies to a period already paid for. We tell you in advance and you may cancel without penalty.
Not paying does not delete your data. The account reverts to the free tier and your collection stays available to view and export.
5. Obligations if you sell
Listing a banknote requires seller details: your name or company name, address, an e-mail address for buyers, and a bank account number. These are given to the buyer when they order.
You must state whether you sell as a business or privately. This determines whether the buyer has the statutory 14 day right of withdrawal and warranty rights. The status is shown with every listing.
Giving false details or concealing trader status breaches these terms and is grounds for suspending the account.
You may only list banknotes you own and are entitled to sell. Counterfeits, reproductions and copies must not be listed unless clearly and visibly marked as such.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the description, photos and grading, for shipping, and for handling the buyer's complaints.
You confirm that you have the right to the photos and descriptions you publish. By listing a banknote you grant Banknotio a free, non-exclusive permission to display those photos and descriptions publicly in the service for as long as the listing is live.
6. Reporting listings
Anyone, including people without an account, can report a listing they believe breaks the law or these terms by writing to hello@banknotio.com. Please identify the listing and say briefly why.
We deal with reports without undue delay. We may hide a listing that raises reasonable doubt while we look into it with the seller.
We tell the seller when we hide a listing and why. They may respond.
Repeated breaches may lead to suspension or removal of the account. This does not stop the user from exporting their data.
If you have paid and the seller has not sent the banknote or does not respond, write to us with the order number. We may then suspend the seller's account and hide their listings, and on request from the police, a prosecutor or a court we will give them the seller's details. Because the money does not pass through Banknotio, we cannot refund the payment; if you suspect fraud, report it to the police and your bank.
7. Valuations and catalogue data
Catalogue data and valuations come from katalogbanknotow.pl, with the author's permission. The source is credited with every valuation.
A valuation is indicative. It is a reference point, not a guarantee of the price achievable. We are not liable for buying decisions based on it.
A valuation is not a professional appraisal and is not suitable for insurance, probate or tax purposes.
8. Liability
We are responsible for the service itself: keeping the collection tool available and not losing your data.
We are not responsible for listing content, authenticity, the conduct of a transaction, payment or shipping. The parties to a sale are the buyer and the seller.
We are not responsible for the consequences of a user giving false details or failing to comply with the law, including tax law.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability to the extent the law does not allow, in particular towards consumers.
9. Changes to these terms
We notify users of changes in advance, by e-mail to the address on the account.
A user who does not accept a change may terminate before it takes effect. Any prepaid, unused part of the subscription is refunded.
With every order we record the version of the documents and the moment of acceptance, so it can later be established what the buyer agreed to.
10. Complaints about the service, and disputes
Complaints about the service (not about a transaction) go to hello@banknotio.com. We reply within 14 days.
Complaints about a purchased banknote go to the seller, whose details are in the terms of sale and in the order confirmation.
Consumers may use out-of-court dispute resolution available in their country, for example consumer ombudsmen or consumer protection authorities.
